Break down (via bus)
- Depart Queen Victoria Building
(QVB is next to Town Hall) - Depart on the Geoge street side - street level - across from Hilton hotel
- Arrive The Rocks (weekDAY)
- weekDAY buses go direct to the Rocks
- Arrive The Rocks (weekEND)
- weekEND buses drop off just outside of The Rocks and you have to walk a bit further
- Arrive Circular Quay (weekDAY or weekEND)
- This is the longest way to get there and depends on which bus you catch as to where you get dropped off
Break down (via train as marked on map above)
- Depart Town Hall station( underground )
- Depart on the Geoge street side
- Arrive Circular Quay
- Short walk to The Rocks (note: the train will stop at Wynyard and then Circular Quay)
Notes
- The estimated time to get between Town Hall and Circular Quay/Rocks is 10 minutes but it has been known to take up to 60 or more minutes in peak times or unusual circumstances (eg accidents etc)
- If a bus drops you off and you dont know where you are, look for the Harbour bridge, and walk in that direction, you wont get lost.
- My recommendation for tourists is to go via train, asking a station attendant which platform goes to Circular Quay, as train track work often changes which platform.
- Bus advice: Buses run ever few minutes down George street to Circular Quay - which is a short walk to The Rocks.
- Bus advice: Buses run every so often down George street to The Rocks(direct)
- Bus advice: Buses to Circular Quay sometimes drop off at Bridge Street (see map) - read bullet point 1 of notes;
- Map advice: On the map above, the train map is only marked out, busses will go down George street and stop near Circular Quay station as marked.

- Can I get to The Rocks via Sydney Ferries?
- Yes, Circular Quay stop. Such Ferries as Darling Harbour, Eastern Suburbs, even as far as Parramatta! but they are outside the scope of this page.
