Notes

Once you reach the bottom keep turning right - this is "Federal pass"
The scenic railway costs additional money to come up

Buses run every: 30 minutes approx starting from around 10 am at the train station
The walk is open all year around
In late autumn, winter and early spring the mountains can be VERY COLD AND WINDY (May, June, July, August, September, October) - make sure you take appropriate clothing

The last scenic rail train up is at 16:50 ( 4:50pm ) do not miss it

I am NOT a doctor, nor do I have medical training. The next few paragraph is for informational purposes only

I have had many leeches on me from this bush walk, usually around my ankles and socks, which cause bleeding.

I have not experienced any pain or discomfort from the leeches, it just looks terrible when you see all the blood.

I personally just pull them off, clean and sterilise the area then bandage the area with a small adhesive bandage( eg Band-Aid)

I am not recommending this action, just informing you of what I do - if you feel it is necessary, please see a doctor.

Do

Do leave Sydney early to experience this and avoid the tourist rush in the middle of the day
Do use the The scenic railway to come up (remember the additional cost!) after walking down
Do explore the board walk when you reach the scenic railway at the bottom
Do the other activities at http://www.ScenicWorld.com.au/ while you are there
While you are at the bottom do the board walk experience.
Do get a full pass from Scenic world to visit all attractions there for the one price - and use the Skyway to get across and not the bus like in the video.

Do NOT

Do NOT do this walk in bad or raining weather - the steps can be slippery and the path muddy
Do NOT carry large or heavy equipment down the stair case
Do NOT catch the last train up, try and leave earlier
Do NOT walk on weekend because that is tourist peak time - walk mid-week
Do NOT use Parke st if you are walking to the Three Sisters.

When is the last Scenic world rail train, go up, each day? (not the public train): 16:50( 4:50 PM )
What if I miss the last scenic world train?: You have to walk up
Is the Three Sisters within walking distance from Katoomba train station?: Yes, use Katoomba st, that will take you through the full town there as well
