Introduction

This article is about traveling tips in general.

This is an on going list that will be updated as the months progress.

Important tips

• Make photo copies of your passport and credit card and leave them seperate to you, either with family back home or in your luggage, because if you lose them, you will be able to provide the specific identification numbers for replacements if necessary
• Do not carry excessive amounts of cash on you
• If you are using a credit card overseas, notify the credit card company that you will be using it over seas in certain locations, as their security might pick it up as susicious activitie and block the card
• Do not play games with customs and quarantine, if you have something to declare, then declare it, better that, then to break the law and have a fine or risk imprissionment
• If you wear a back pack, and you are in large crowds, place the back pack on the front of you, so that you can keep an eye on the zippers
• Do not stay out after reasonable hours - be in a safe location by midnight
• Keep an eye out for suspcious activities or people (pick pockets etc), be aware of your surroundings and whats going on - always be on the alert, but not to the point of paranoia
• Always have an alternate plan - in case it rains, or the event is cancelled etc
• Always carry appropriate supplied and clothing - bottle of water, footware etc
• Maintain an overall good state of health even if you are not going on holidays
• Do not eat from places that do not look clean or hygenic
• If you are going on a self guided tour that has remote surroundings, tell someone at your hotel before you leave, and notify the same person when you return

Not so important tips

• Foot paths are only so wide in city landscapes, if you are traveling in large number of people, do not spread out and consume the whole pathway - remember to share - if you wish to spread out, go to the beach or the botanical gardens
• Although you are on holiday, please consider that we live and work in our city, and alot of us are at work
